I would love to get back to the tourney but don't think we have enough pitching..If we finish below 500 again this year will Calvi's seat get hot?
I'm hoping for a top 3 finish in the Belt.
I think we'll finish above .500 this year. There's a lot of offensive production back. We've also added some guys there. Logan Kirkland is back. Jeff Deblieux is back and had a great fall. Cole Billingsley is a baller. Bud Collura can hit.
A productive line-up and deeper pitching gives us a real chance in all of our mid-week games.
I do think our pitching has gotten a lot deeper, but I don't know if we have a Friday Night - Lieber/Zimmerman/Fisher/Walters type. Though, Izzy was pitching well in that roll last year. That may tell the story to the season.
There's a lot to be excited about with the young arms. Soleymani looks like a future Fri/Sat guy. Harville is complete bulldog and Weaver looks like a closer waiting to happen.
Would be interesting to pose that question to Coach Calvi.
Come to the Dugout Club meeting and ask him yourself!

It really can't get worse than last year can it? That was our worst year EVER (besides the very short first season). I'll be optimistic about this year...
I'm with Gene on this one. I predict a nice uptick in number of wins and quality of play. The ball I watched in the fall was solid. I couldn't really put my finger on it but there just seemed to be a much better vibe with the team this fall
I think one of the biggest, most helpful improvements will be at third base. Bones did an admirable job there, but he's just not cut out for third base. I would think Bud Collura and/or Robby Campbell will be a nice upgrade at that spot.

Collura played 3B in JC and won the gold glove in his conference; that's who I would prefer win the job. Campbell is incredibly valuable because he can play 2b/ss/3b and his hitting has appeared to really have improved from the start of last season. You are right; we turned to Dalken out of desperation last year; either Collura or Campbell would be an upgrade defensively.
I wouldn't rule out Trey Williamon at 3rd. I've heard its a 3 man race between Collura, Campbell and Williamon. Either way the 2 year hole at 3rd base should be plugged up this season. 25 days and a wake up till opening night!
