We need a bball thread going so I wanted to see which way the Jagwinds are blowing two months into the CJP era. Any changes of opinion?
I may be in the minority, but I would vote for keeping Price.

Spoke with someone in the athletic dept yesterday on this very topic. The opinion relayed to me was they were going to see what kind of interest was received for outside coaches. The would like to make a splash hire if possible. I get the feeling CJP is going to viewed as any other candidate interviewing with maybe a little boost being given to the nice job turned in so far.

How about Grant at Alabama he will be looking at the end of this year and has had great success at a mid major. Maybe a reach but he already knows the recruiting landscape in the state and is a great coach. U of A just is not a good fit for him or many other Basketball coaches for that matter. We would probably not be able to afford him but if U of A had to supplement his income in a buy out he might be able to come here and reboot his coaching career. Wouldn't it be great if U of A had to supplement the salary of our basketball coach. Just dreaming but if we are not going to retain Coach Price who admittedly is a friend of mine we need to make a mighty big splash with someone like Grant or Wojo at Duke. He seems to be the coach in waiting when coach K. retires but someone of his status if we go Asst. at a big program. If he is not the coach in waiting maybe he would come to start his HC career with us.
Who currently has Alabama as the No. 2 team in the SEC with a 9-3 conference record?
Do you think he's stepping down?
Or do you think he's getting fired?
All indications he is getting fired. He has no chance at NCAA tournament unless he wins the SEC tournament. U of A fans are calling for his head.
Anthony Grant getting fired this year is extremely unlikely.

Alabama fans care about two things...
2. Beating Auburn
Grant lost to Auburn 4 games ago and UA fans have been calling for his head since then.
I'm willing to bet 75% of those people calling for his head don't realize they've won 3 straight since then, nor do they realize Alabama in No. 2 in the SEC right now (granted it is a terrible year for the SEC).
