I'm new to the site, so i apologize for any error that occur during my topic posts. But I've been in Mobile since the beginning of the season, and seen almost all of the practices. I think we have a pretty good team this year, and we are very capable of winning the Sunbelt. The key to this team will be our guard play. When our guards play well, we can compete with any team. All we need is consistency in our guards. They are talented, but they have to get on the same page. Controlling our turnovers and making shots on a consistent bases. I am very impressed with our bigs, they have been bringing it every night. If they all get on the same page, watch out because its possible we could be "dancing" again!
If you are who I think you are, can you please find yourself some more eligibility and hop on the court?!
haha, I would love to! I really enjoyed my time down here in Mobile.
If the guards played the way they did in Tallahassee and Boca Raton, Jags win. They play the way they did in Atlanta, they lose. I guess CRA should schedule all of the road games in Florida. Either that or not schedule any in Atlanta. And bring DB and DM back!

South In Your Mouth, FOREVER!!! Right Florida State?
Great to have you on board DB. And you nailed it.
Today I’ll take any kind of passion. Just care! Complain, moan, groan, or call for somebody’s head. CARE !! - OJ
Thanks, I recently found out about this site. Its a great way for me to keep up with the teams!! I am a big fan of my alma mater.
Welcome aboard..Man I miss those days watching you bury those jumpers..Please continue to give us your insight..
It's an honor to have you join us here DB. Thanks for all of the great memories you gave us. You were definately one of my all time favorite Jag players. I wish we could get guards with your size, shooting range and clutch ability more often.
Welcome to JagsJungle DB! I still say you were robbed of Sun Belt player of the year in 2008. Courtney Lee didn't have the stats to win that award, like you did. It was good seeing you honored on the football field a few weeks ago.
Hey DB. Great to have you in town and also on the boards here. We enjoyed watching you play in your day.
Have you ever carried a football? Maybe you've got some eligibility remaining for the football team? You can hop on a plane today and make tomorrow's game. We're a little shallow in the backfield now.
Seriously, glad to see that you're a supporter. I was mentioning to a friend at the Spring Hill game how it seemed that basketball players from the past just don't come around much and support the program. Then, low and behold, it wasn't 5 minutes later they announced you being there so that was great! Wish more would do it.
I'd like to add in DW to this list.
I've seen Daon there a few times too. But that is about it.
It'd be fun to get the entire 2007-2008 team there to be honored for their at-large bid. I'm still PO'd that we got matched up with Butler while WKU got an overrated Drake and ran it all the way to the Sweet 16. Butler was on fire from 3-point land and it was too much for us to overcome. I'd rather have played Tennessee in the first round. I still think that had we been matched up with Tennessee we would have won. If we were in WKU's bracket I think it'd have been us in the Sweet 16 instead of them. But that's the way it goes, I suppose.
That 07-08 season was awesome. The crowds were insane. Welcome to the board DB!
I'm just gonna post here to be apart of this thread!...
My wife and I shot all the athletics back then when we were all in college. It was probably the most fun job ever. We probably have 100GB's of photos from those basketball seasons in our archives.
But seriouly, I just hope for consistency from our guards. Obviously we want to have shots falling AND low turnovers. But when both go south, it gets ugly, as we saw in ATL.
Designer // Basketball Nut // 6'5" white boy who once dunked over two defenders... then I woke up.
Glad to have you here as well. I anticipate some fairly heated debates as the season progresses and I hope you will give us the benefit of your knowledge and insights into what we're seeing on the court.
Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. I am glad to be apart of the jags jungle family. I will probably be on here a lot, now that my career is up in the air because of a freak accident to my knee. This is a good way for me to stay apart of the game.
i thought so as well. But at the time, i was just happy we was winning
I AGREE. I still have not seen a top 10 team receive a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament. We received a bad draw in the tournament. But Butler was a really good team, as they continue to show us they are a good program. But we didn't prepare for a guy to come off the bench and have a career high in the first half nailing 6 three pointers. Although I may point out he was a power forward. Just one of those night.
I have an analysis on my home computer somewhere that shows all the stats between you, Bo McCalebb, and Courtney Lee that would allow any logically-thinking person to conclude you were the best player in the league that year.
I made a sign for the tournament that said "Demetric Bennett: The REAL Player of the Year" and I held it right in Commissioner Wright Waters' face as he walked by. Jag fans know who the real player of the year was.
haha....thats great....I wish i would have seen it. I know it was hilarious..... We did beat Western on both meetings that year
You would like my other sign I made for Western Kentucky... Since they finished second to us (again) I made a sign that Said "WKU is #2". Check it out at:
I made a very similar version of that sign for the 2001 SBC Championship Game, minus the illustrations.
