Plse reference some of the previous posts...we were discussing the JUMBOTRON....????
The title of the thread is Ladd Stadium Improvements. The speaker situation has been discussed at least as much as a jumbotron the last few years.
If this has been an ongoing issue with the facility I am surprised the Senior Bowl Execs has not taken care of it...Does Phil Savage know about it? Maybe I used the wrong Title but are we any closer to resolving the issues(both of them) as we were when they were identified? Just curious....
Sounds like the speaker issue is easier to fix (pun intended).
Jumbotron is much too expensive. As long as the dream of an OCS exists, I don't think you'll see one, except perhaps the occasional rental.
That was what the discussion was about, what were DJE's findings on the rental of the Jumbotron for five games, four games, three games, two games or Homecoming and how much of a ticket price increase to make it happen?
With the way this is worded I'm not sure they are stating both will be done in the next 2 years or just the turf. I'm guessing the turf but after reading Airtroop's post, maybe it was said differently.
'Bigger projects on the horizon would be a new scoreboard with instant replay video capabilities and replacing the artificial turf within the next two years.'
Bamabyrd08, Thank you for the information dated June 2012, let's archive this issue until 2014...now promise me we will keep this article for future reference.
I'm with you on this one. I don't think a jumbotron (rental or permanent) will come at the expense of USA. With Ladd not always being the home of the Jags in the future, it would make little sense to fork out a large amount of cash for basically a donation to the city.
Class of '14. Go Jags! South in your Mouth!
Again though, a rental is not a donation to the city. Budget and long term viability are issues for permanent placement, but have nothing to do with renting a big screen 5 times a year for a day at a time.
Today I’ll take any kind of passion. Just care! Complain, moan, groan, or call for somebody’s head. CARE !! - OJ
OT: Is there a reason I can't downvote posts?
Thanks, my friend for understanding and keeping to the point of discussion...No Pun Intended the next step is to verify if the idea has actually been investigated...10,000 tickets increased by 3 to 5 dollars would be up to 50,000 for the purpose of renting a Jumbo...Now if season tickets decreases for this reason then we have a major problem...Now has the idea been presented to DJE if so what is the response?
I thought only us mods weren't allowed to down vote.
I'll find out because there are certainly some good candidates.
When I am on the forum without being signed in I can see the down arrow, but when i sign in to add a post the down arrow disappears.
I got you beat! This gentleman sat right behind me. And beside Trey Clark.
I can see the down arrow but if I try to click on it , it tells me that I have no more down votes for the day even though I have not used any up or down.
"Faster horses, Younger women, Older whiskey, More money"
Now the down vote worked for me . I just downvoted this comment and there is no way to reverse it is there?
Sorry G Jag
Haters gonna hate.
Upvote for you.
I would assume that ESPN2 or ESPNU or ESPN SunBelt games of the week, that featured the Jags at home this upcoming season would probably also bring along with it, the rented Jumbotron. Would that be a wrong assumption?
I noticed last season, that the ESPN networks did try to spread the love around to give all SunBelt teams a shot at a TV game.
If that holds true and with only 8 teams, I give us a decent chance of at least one.

I hope all TV games are away games. I am in attendance for all Home games.
Me too, jimrjag.
Season ticket holder for going on my third year. We don't miss a game.
