Please tell Phil Savage to leave the BIG SCREEN TV
Oh yeah. I meant to comment about the portable screen they had at the GoDaddy.com Bowl. It can be done.

I'm a machine, jerk!
I and others have brought this up many times. Easily doable. For a relatively modest price for 5-6 home games.

I can't fathom why this has not been done yet. Can't speak for everyone but if price was an issue, I'd gladly pay an extra 5-10$ on my season tickets to have a big screen.
Call the director of athletics with your suggestion....the students are paying for the team with their activity fees then let the boosters and season ticket holders pay extra for the big screen....
The big screean was definately a plus.
Im sorry that we didnt get to stop by any tents or speak to anyone from here. I kept hoping someone would have come to the south endzone during warm ups and give us a shout. The coaches hurried us along as a group to keep us together since we only stayed for the first qtr before leaving for other activities.
The big screen at Go Daddy did not add much IMO. It was a smallish big screen; I was in the 17th row on the 50 and could not see the screen in enough detail to add anything to game.
Big screen would be nice, but based on what I saw, a bigger big screen.
All I was asking was if the Senior Bowl could leave the screen behind until next year? Was it rented for one time only or was it a purchase? Phil Savage? Is the game returning to Ladd next year?If so, does the Senior Bowl rent one every year or is it purchased?
I didnt go to the senior bowl this year so i didnt see the size of the big screen. But i have been in previous years and the screen was pretty big and adequate. However, I did go to the Godaddy.com bowl this year and the "big" screen they had for that game was too small to do much good. I wonder was that the same one for the senior bowl this year.

If left overnight, it would be stolen in a heart beat
I would bet it is rented. it wouldnt make much sense to buy one and use it once every year. If it does belong to the senior bowl, then i couldnt imagine a reason why they wouldnt let us use it for a small fee.
What options are there if any for South Alabama's home games????
Prett sure it's rented. There are companies that specialize in those rentals. I had found several and posted in a thread some months ago when someone was asking for suggestions to pass along to admin.
We were making a pretty big deal about this issue last year before the season and i remember someone saying that AD Erdmann was tryng to get this accomplished before last season and something happened or fell thru or something???
Just set it up then remove after the game. USA wouldn't get that overnight rental fee
This the company stating they provide the big screen for the Senior Bowl. Could not find specific pricing.

DJE has been working on it for two years now, but building codes and expansion of the current scoreboard prices were astronomical and not feasible at this time. It was something like $40K per inch expanded to hold up to wind codes.

Has DJE explored the RENTAL pricing of the Jumbo TV? Why look into expanding the current scoreboard unless Ladd will be the permanent field
The big screen for Godaddy was hardly noticeable and was about half the size of one for Senior Bowl.
The screen for the Senior Bowl was rented from a company called GoVision. They don't post their prices online, but I imagine it ain't cheap.
GoVision specializes in HD outdoor video screens, mobile event video trucks and custom LED modular screens rentals with exceptional customer service and leading technical production capabilities. With our state-of-the art indoor and outdoor displays, we make your event a turnkey success with our quick setting mobile screens and video walls.
Ok I am with you...From the the beginning of the program, we have said over and over that we wanted to do things the right way and first class. If we cannot bump season tickets up slightly to cover the rental for all of the home games, then let's do it for homecoming....I have also heard not to complain without bringing a suggestion to the table. Do you think this is something DJE, the athletic dept and boosters can make happen? Plse let me know what you think the obstacles are....
I talked in detail with DJE about the obstacles last year. I'll try to find them real quick and report here
I called in on 105.5 last year and challenged Phil Savage on this question. He said between the Senior Bowl and USA they expected for us to have a big screen or jumbotron in place for this next season. We shall see....

AirTroop, that was last year do you plan on following up and does any one from South know about the plans? DJE?
The screen at The Senior Bowl was OK. I was on the home side and I enjoyed it. (We were sitting by Denard Robinson's brother.) Sorry about the name drop, but I couldn't help it.
For the Red, White, & Blue: Go Jags!
As I wrote in The Vanguard this week, DJE is working hard on getting speakers installed on the student side of the stadium, so not to blast the home side anymore.
