Looks like it was a lot of promoting the QB/WR from Alabama State...did see Jake's name pop up on the board, but no comments from the ESPN crew...Hope the guys get PT and represent...Hopefully So AL will be called out a lot on Sat...
It's kinda funny i watched the backgound more than anything else.I did see Johnson quite a bit and Scott was fielding some punts.Your right it was alot about the ASU guy. They did mention that there were about 70 NFL scouts there,so our guys will get looked at.

BJ is listed as Burton Scott and is wearing #27 on the American Squad. Jake is listed as Jacob Johnson and is wearing #58, also on the American squad.
Class of '14. Go Jags! South in your Mouth!
I tried the copy and paste routine with no success. Here is a link to it.

For the Red, White, & Blue: Go Jags!
I thought both of the guys represented South Alabama very well in todays game. I really did not notice any blitzes from the linebacker spot today. I'm guessing that is part of the "rules". Jake would have had a monster game if he was allowed to blitz and maybe that would shut them up about that New Mexico Highlands guy. B.J. looked good at safety. Overall I think it was a good showing for our JAGS!
J-A-G-S Jags! Jags! Jags!
Twitterverse is reporting Jake has received an invite for the Senior Bowl.
Damn, now I may have to go out there on Saturday..........

Edit - Nevermind. I see that this is from the watch list a couple of months back.

If there were no Alabama or Auburn players in the game how many people would attend?Would come close to selling out?
How are you not going to have Alabama or Auburn players in the Senior Bowl? They have 4 and 5 star athletes at every position and play the toughest schedules in the country. You will always have at least 1 or 2 that are highly rated NFL prospects.
I would like to see our guys get in because the senior bowl thinks they deserve to be there not because our fans bug them to death and threaten to boycot the game...that's all I'm saying. Now the second player that our fans wanted to see get in is in. Contgrats to Jake, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. If we have a player in the future who doesn't get in so be it. I can promise you there aren't too many fans out there any more excited than I about Jake playing in the Senior Bowl.
As it stands right now, no Auburn player will participate in the game. The two that were invited both have injuries. They will however be down and go through the interviews, tests and meetings with the NFL personnel.
IT'S OUR TIME! GO JAGS!!
It was a hypothetical question.
I don't care about Alabama or Auburn or any other schools' players. All I care about is that the Senior Bowl weekend is South Alabama's showcase for recruits and every year we get a player in the game we increase our chances of landing difference makers.
I know what kind of a question it is. Obviously more people will come if those schools have players in it. Look at the coors classic in the past, without an sec school in it unfortunately we don't draw flies in the Mitchell center.
Let face it the people in Mobile are not embracing our program like they should! You live in Mobile folks not Auburn or Tuscaloosa. Even our own so called fans cleared out after the third quarter of the FAU game. We don't really support anything except wrestling and Mardi Gras. Unfortunately you're right we need players from those teams in order to fill up the stadium. Luckily for the Senior Bowl those 2 schools usually have deserving players.
Ha you are so right about Mardi Gras and wrestling.Throw something and they will come.
Hate to go back to the same talking points we have had on this board for some time, however, the way to grow the fan base is by doing what we are doing. Attend the football/basketball games. Bring someone with you. Make this an experience for the younger generation. They will be the fan base over the next few decades. Lastly, don't worry about the naysayers who leave early or put down the program. No one cares what they think anyway. This is going to take some time. It is going to take time, but if things keep going in the same direction it will definitely happen.
Bam! Love it! Wish everyone in Mobile thought this way.
