The fact that he was hurt and missed most of the season is all the more reason to put him in. He's rated number 11 out of 99 tight ends. Like I wrote before, it's not just about stats. So should they not have invited Barkley from USC because he had a down year and was hurt? He's the number 2 rated player at his position so the 15 int's and a disappointing season don't matter.
Obviously the scouts want to see how
Lutzenkirchen performs after his hip injury and rightfully so. They also have very little film to evaluate him on from his senior year. It make sense to me.
I thought Skullys post from earlier pretty well laid out why JJ was deserving, and not just because he went to South.
Today I’ll take any kind of passion. Just care! Complain, moan, groan, or call for somebody’s head. CARE !! - OJ
I left Mobile in 1979, but I try to keep up with what takes place in the Port City...I have a brilliant idea....The next time Phil Savage is on the radio..I hope he takes questions via call-ins...Just ask him why Jake was not selected and hopefully he will man up...I don't think anyone else should be speaking for him....If he was one of the primary individuals making the invites let him Justify the decision. If I were in Mobile I would certainly ask him....
Good idea.He has the Senior Bowl locker room show on WNSP.Not really sure if it's about the SB itself or just sponsored by the SB.
They talk college football for sure and focus on SB invitees. Up until now it's been about who they were looking at, who has accepted, what goes on the week they are here, etc.......... Would be interesting to see if they'd even take a question concerning a specific individual not invited or if they would just answer it in general terms......... Remember how close a player is to the area does have an impact when and if they have to make injury replacements. Pretty sure that worked in Quick Six's favor. Maybe it will again?
IT'S OUR TIME! GO JAGS!!
I'm happy that these two are getting to play somewhere! But see how many mistakes you can find on this official roster.
Just from a quick once-over:
University of "Ariozna"
3 different versions of Stanford - Stanford, Stanford Cardinal, "Standford"
2 different versions of Miami - Miami Hurricanes, University of Miami
What's this world coming to? Back in my day...
Horizontally enhanced, vertically challenged, follically impaired...
Maybe Jake should bring his gear and just hang out at the first practice. The public is invited.
The way Jake is built, we could call him "Quick Six Pack" (abs).

For the Red, White, & Blue: Go Jags!
Southern Miss' Darius Barnes is listed twice.
That's cuz he's twice as good as everyone else.
Jake and BJ didn't make the SB but they are in the NFLPA game. Now go to the NFLPA facebook and wish them luck. Not only to support former players but to get South Alabama's name out.WE FANS must do whatever we can to help the program. There a couple of recruits out in LA also.
ESPN 2 Sat @ 5 cst.
Thanks, for the update I will be watching...the silver lining I was in Hawaii with the team back in Dec, this is another oppurtunity for BJ and JJ to take another long trip this time to the West Coast...
According to Al.Com the Scouts will not get a chance to see Lutz play after all.....
Pretty sure he'll still be down and going through all the interview and testing that goes on off the field.
Manti Te'o declined an invite to the Senior Bowl... maybe Jake can get in as a backup.
Don't count on it....based on the feedback we have recieved from other posts....Jake is not rated high enough at his position and according to Phil the pro scouts don't want to see him although he might be able to suit up and actually get on the field and take contact...

Maybe I'm off base here but I'd be willing to bet some amount of money that Jake would have made at least one tackle that Te'O got trucked/whiffed on.
There is no need my friend, sometimes in life we have very short memories....Remember the AL-VTech game in the Georgia Dome, Jake lead VTech in tackles against the you guessed it ALABAMA.....
Don't forget that these are the same people that unanimously decided that it would be a good idea to pick JaMarcus Russell instead of Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson.
I remember one in particular! Jake CRUSHES Mark Ingram! I have a copy of the pic.
Nice.Wasn't Johnson a true freshman at that time?
NFLPA practice @1:30 on ESPNU guess thats cst gonna check in @ 12:30 just to make sure. It's gonna be cool to see JJ and BJ out there.

Is there anyway you could post it on here for us to see....
Can you imagine the $H!tstorm of media hovering over him here next week if he came? Wow. He probably needs to lay low for a while.
Practice at 12:30....
Got it streaming on the web. Natl. team out there now.JJ and BJ on Amer.team gotta wait a couple of hours for them.
Glad Johnson doest't have a bunch of stickers on his helmet.
