So in 2013, the SBC is down to eight schools. If we lose 2 more by 2014, the league is the new WAC. Invite FCS move-ups tomorrow and they can't be FBS before 2015, which of course means we need to have more FBS schools for 2014 -- and the only known candidates are NMSU and Idaho. Without new FBS members in 2014, or unless everybody left stays, this is no longer a league we want to be in. Can Karl Benson can pull a rabbit (or USM) out of his hat? I doubt it.
No one is going to move down.
(if I'm wrong I will gladly eat crow)
What is the time frame for the Commissioner Benson to make an annoucement about additions to the Sun Belt. Isn't it imperative that this announcement come before the beginning of the 2013 season. Does anyone feel that the team(s) have already be determined and he is just waiting for the right time to announce?
Schools have to announce their intentions to change conferences by June 1st. He will likely wait until close to that date to see if CUSA or the BE make anymore moves.
I just don't know why South Alabama, Southern Miss, ULL, ULM, UAB, Troy, MTSU, Arky State, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Texas State, and Western Kentucky just get together and make a conference? Its that simple right? A couple of phone calls
